Hi! as you know, yu ling mentioned that we should get housing below 41st street. But it has been quite tough to find apartments with 3 rooms under that criteria. May i know if the place is really ghetto-ish after 41st street for even the main streets like walnut, chestnut etc? And what do you think of filbert street at 40th north street, is that area safe? Is the powelton area very far from upenn or its still walking distance? Thanks for taking you time to ans those questions!

I think generally, it is difficult to find apartments with 3 rooms. Maybe you can rent one with two rooms, in which one is bigger than the other than one can share. Oh I think you can try chestnut arms; Colin, Ganesh and Saurabh are sharing an apartment there. The streets on walnut, chestnut, locust, pine, spruce after 41st are not ghettoish but it's just very quiet at night, so this is what makes it dangerous. I think Filbert and Powelton area are too far from walnut, chestnut, so dun think of renting the house there hahah The streets beyond market street is generally not advisable to stay in.

Hi Ben, My apt is a 2 bedroom with a living room, so I share the place with Saurabh and Ganesh...so its like 3 of us. Its $825 split by 3 people. Its true that its difficult to get 3 bedroom apts...almost impossible. My suggestion is either to re group, or make sleeping arrangments, like 2 to a room. or 1 in living room. Advise not to stay in powelton area...dont think Yu Link will even agree...ludlow is better than that la. There's a 9 or 16 bedroom place on chestnut...haha...maybe u guys should get that!

16 or 9 bedrooms house. That sounds good actually. Do they really have that? But everyone have to share 1 kitchen or 1 living room? Then that sounds like SAF with girls.

But I advise against staying with too many people as the payment of rent, electricity, sharing of responsibilities get chaotic haha

'I thk there are still a few housings within the "possible areas", the problem is they only start the lease in Mid-Aug or Sep.......' Is that true? I think maybe when you come to Philly, you can see if there are other houses that are not listed which are available.

Welcome!
